once upon a time - il était une fois...

Some time ago I went to Lille, France with a blog-friend, Veerle. The purpose was supply-shopping!! (what else :-)

I bought some gorgeous stuff about which I will blog later.

Just before we had to catch our train we dropped into a bookshop (a friend of Veerle collects bookmarks and we saw some in the shopwindow).

Entering a bookshop in France is deadly for me, (as I am a Children books addict!!!)

France has so many great and talended illustrators and authors (you all know some of them who sell on Etsy), and those books are not always available in Belgium, so I HAD to bring two awesome children books with the money I had left...

at home I let me inspire by the colors and the beautifull illustrations and made a matching Fairy-tale necklace with some vintage findings and japanese washi paper. soon available in my shop)

Burenbij kunstenaars

Op 17, 18 en 19 oktober exposeer ik mijn juweelcreaties in het kader van Buren bij kunstenaars, Open atelierdagen. (een initiatief van departementen West vlaanderen, Nord en Pas de Calais).
Het ganse weekend kan je in deze regio bij heel wat kunstenaars binnenstappen.
Zo ook bij mijn vrienden Laurence Kalman en Jean Bernard Boulnois, bij wie ik ook een plekje kreeg in hun prachtige woonst in de Singel in Brugge.

Nog even en mijn laatste paar 'Sugar and spice' gaat de deur uit, (van mijn shop)

De vintage rode enamel bloemetjes zijn niet meer te vinden, (misschien moet ik de oorhangers nu wel verdriedubbelen in prijs, haha ) Het leuke aan deze oorhangertjes vind ik de assymetrie.

Tja, je moet ze natuurlijk durven dragen, met het risico dat iemand opmerkt dat je twee verschillende oorbellen aan hebt.

Heb mezelf meteen aan het werkgezet om nog een aantal assymetrische oorhangers te maken.

Niet evident, het resultaat zie je hierboven!

Nu nog een originele naam bedenken (al even moeilijk) en dan verkrijgbaar in mijn shop.

I have only a few left of my 'sugar and Spice' earrings. They are my 'all time favorites'!

Can't find the vintage enamel flowers anymore... that makes the left pairs are rare and !

I like them so much because they are assymetrical and yet they go so good together.At least that's what I feel about them.

I enjoyed making some other new assymetrical pairs, which is certainly not easy!

Now, have to find original names for them like 'Milk & Honey, 'Salt & pepper' ....and list them soon in my shop!

Recycled, vintage & Fair Trade!

Ben je al langs geweest bij Karwei in Wetteren?
daar kan je mijn papierkralen halssnoeren in levende lijve bewonderen (en aankopen!

De kralen zijn gemaakt van dik tijdschriftenpapier, afgewerkt met een laagje vernis en gecombineerd met zilveren kralen, handgemaakte zijden kralen en viltenbolletjes.
De zijde is Fair Trade en komt uit Sjamma, de viltbolletjes zijn ofwel zelfgemaakt ofwel van een Engelse Fair Trade organisatie die ze laat maken in India. De andere kralen komen uit mijn vintage-verzameling. Helemaal mijn ding dus: ecologisch en Fair Trade : je draagt ze met dubbel zoveel plezier!

Ben je al op zoek naar leuke hebbedingetjes en cadeautjes voor de eindejaarsdagen en ben je in de buurt van Lokeren, ga dan eens piepen bij SoieBelle in Lokeren, een heerlijk winkeltje met juweeltjes, vilten hoedjes en mutsen, broches , haarspeldjes,tasjes,... noem maarop, alles prachtig handgemaakt door de gastvrouw Kathleen en andere ontwerpers.
Vanaf deze week kan je er ook oorbellen van mijn hand vinden!

In this shop you can find the most beautiful accessories: scarves, hats, jewelry, bags, totos, brooches,... all made by the lovely owner Kathleen and other designers. She also sells tempting supplies like stones and glass beads, you can bet this place is very dangerous for me :-)))
