my creative workspace

Lots to do today.
creating
taking pics
pricing
A friend of mine has an open house next weekend, where she will sell my jewelry,
so I have to create some new pieces and already price them. I take pics of every piece and store them in my flickr account.

As you see I use my trolley as a work bench today. It's fun to travel around in the house and find the must sunny place, quite ecologic too, don't you think?

Mix and Match

I have been mixing and matching my beads and materials. I like sorting them by color, by size, by origin...
Trough the years I collected so much findings that it is such a pleasure to use them now and search for the perfect match!
I sort these necklaces under my 'textile jewelry', as the main ingrediënt is textile (in this case the ribbon, the silk beads and the merino wool felt)
Click on the pictures to find them in my shop.

spoil yourself!

Hubby is abroad again...
that means more broken nights ( I don't sleep so well when hubby isn't home)
and all the household and children stuff for mummy...

- bringing and getting the kids to school
- bringing kids to after school activities
- cooking
- helping kids with the homework
- putting kids in beds
- playing with kids
- baking the bread
- doing the dishes
-...

Well, I decided to spoil myself. (after I visited the blog of Petitplat, I ran off to the bakery) and I bought myself some yummie pattisserie!

repurposed apple dishes

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but here in Belgium fruit is mostly sold 'packaged.'
It's strange but the packaged fruit seems to be cheaper then the fruit you can buy without package. And as we are a big family (with only one decent income) , and eating lots of fruit,
I do have to chose for the most economic version: the packaged apples!
But as we try to minimalize our ecologic footprint I don't throw them away , I reuse them! or better say repurpose:

They are quite handy for sorting my beads :-)
(the apples look very yellow in the pic, that was because of yesterdays evening sun!)

just a little boudoir mirror

For some time I have been looking for a little mirror. One I can take wit me when I am on a fair with my Fleurfatale shop. I found one on Etsy. Made by the French Irish Glass artist Pamela Angus.
Take a peek in her shop to see the other most beautiful things she makes with glass.
Now I have to find a place in my workroom for that gorgeous little mirror. I think it will fit perfect in the ecclectic interior we have! Willl show some pics of it later!
I made another mosaïc to show 'the little boudir mirror'

Saturday Shopping list with a vintage touch

I planned to go to a sale of vintage stuff with my blog friendVeerle, we promised each other to have a cup of coffee and a chat afterwards.

You can imagine my disappointment when I stood up this morning and found a little note from hubby that he already left for a lecture in Utrecht. He totally forgot to tell me before!!!
I could not find a babysitter, but Maia (the eldest) was willingly to look after the little kids
and I promised her to keep in touch with my mobile.

So far so good, I went to Ghent and did some quick vintage shopping with Veerle, but we could not have our cuppa, as I did not wanted to leave the kids alone for long...
So Veerle, we'll enjoy that cup next saturday and have yummie muffin surplus !!! :-)

I bought some awesome vintage treasures (will show the later) to make future creations.
And this explains why my Saturday shopping list is all about vintage or stuff created with vintage findings. Do browse the shops of these artists, they have the most beautiful things :-)
