My creative space

A little bit back to business today, well, I hope so..., cause I have a terrible
headache! I must say it's kinda solved already, took some chocolate and did some online shopping, yes! that can cheer you up!

ok, my creatieve space today!

My gift certificates arrived (cadeaubonnen!) they look very good!
You can buy them online but poeople from Belgium can order them also by sending me an e-mail: fleurfatale@live.be (if you have questions about how it works, then send me an e-mail to, I will be pleased to explain you!)

Lately I bought me a filepin , there is also a little benchblock so I can use it for hammering. I plan to invest in a workbench and a torch, I feel I want to practice the things I learn in metal classes at home....

I have struggled some time with tagging my textile necklaces. As you know I sell them in some off-line shops too, and I find it important to hang a tag on them, whit my shop name and the price. But now I found these beauties and I am reallly happy with them!!!

In my search I found the most beautiful tags! Very usefull for giving a personal touch to your handmade creations! (or to hang on your holiday presents)
- some ideas
- stamp your shop name on it
- add a lovely note to the buyer
- stamp 'Thank You' on it
- or leave it blank, so the buyer can you it as a notecard to give the present
punch a little hole in them and choose a beautiful ribbon in the same colorshade.

family reunion

On monday eve we had to celebrate the 'coming home' of hubby and Meron, boy, we had missed them! I had not heard of them since tuesday so I began to worry a bit.
The reason of no messages was that hubby took the wrong cable to upload his mobile phone and when he sended me an e-mail he typed the wrong adress :-s
Well, we just can't imagine but in Jima there is only one internet cable for the whole university, internet connetion is rare and very slow there!
When Meron arrived she smiled like never before, the roots trip obvious had done her very good! And more then ever it felt like we really really fit togheter,it felt so good to be with the 6 of us again.
I will soon blog about their visit to the orphan house.

The Sales Fairy

Glad I got my energy back today.
yesterday was a real zombie day...
The night before, Mies woke up at 4 o'clock and did not sleep anymore, and so did I....
But Hubby and Meron arrived and that made my day and gave me energy to make my sales fairy! (I will keep you updated about their Ethiopea trip soon!)
The day before I catched a sweet little 'sales bird' from Karuski.

And this is the one I made yesterday, she is leaving today for Budapest, because Krisztina managed to catch her!

Find the fun story about the 'sales Fairies' here.

This the story of my sales Fairy:

Sweet one winged sales fairy mobile
This sweet happy sales fairy will come fly to you all the way from Belgium.

It's a floral one,(or what did you think :-), adorned with vintage ribbons, lace and lovely buttons, also a bit wool felted balls are included.

She carries a fan, because she is a little shy (look at her reddish cheeks) sometimes she hides behind it.
Or is it her wing (she only has one, but that does not stop her fluttering and flying!)

Her shape is based on the shape of the Barbapapa's, but could be a babuschka too, or is she a little madonna? LOL!

One thing is sure, this dangling floral lady will lighten up your days with happiness and sales!

so catch her if you can!

This last week I have been playing games like never before!
Not the computer ones, but the good old board games like memory and 'ganzespel'.
My youngest (the boy) is really into it, he wants to play it all over and over,
oh my!
I am glad school begins tomorrow, first thing I will do on monday morning is have a run (I must loose the extra weight I got with eating all those yummie things these days). Yesterday My kids asked to bake Belgian Waffles, hm, with a hot cuppa chocolate :-)

It seems that lately I am using up my stock of etnic beads, maybe because I am hoping on a new bunch of beads and stones from Ethiopia?
Yay! one more night to sleep and hubby and Meron ar back home, the kids want to celebrate that with French fries on monday eve.... (hm, I really need that run tomorrow!)

African Touch 2

Again an early morning...
well then, a bit time to blog!
I made pictures of more of my African Inspired bold necklaces!
I enjoy felting and using felt these days, I really think wool is a wintery thing!
I decided to give this collection the name: 'African Touch'. I do think they have something African, not only the use of the Ethiopean silver or resin, but also the distressed wooden beads, the repurposed fabric beads and the assembling of diferrent materials feels African to me!
Find them here in my shop.
Will try to do some experiment with fused plastic too, but that is for later!

AS I mentioned here before (or was it on Twitter), my daughters (and a friend) did a lot of cooking these holidays!,
I guess you don't want to see the mess afterwards :-)))

Two nights to sleep and hubby and Meron are back (that is what I keep telling the little ones, it s really time daddy comes home!)

Not going anywhere this evening.
I guess me and the three kids will make it cosy tonight. Watching a series togheter and me doing some crochet meanwhile (it's time I start with the hat for Mies, remember the lovely yarn I bought!)
On Fridays the kids get some chips and lemonade. (and mummy a glass of wine and some tapas) As we don't have those things the rest of the week, this is always like a little party for the kids.

Today our babysit is coming and heading to the swimmingpool with my little ones, so I hope to finish my bold African necklaces and post the pictures of the result here soon! (Need to find a collection name for them, because I have ideas to make a bunch of them)
And the postman brought me a very sweet and lovely package today, but that's for another blogpost!
