inspiration in/from a shell

it happens me
always
when I am on holidays

after a few days
I am so relaxed
that
inspiration comes to me
easily

then I am happy I brought some things
to create with
in this case
lots of
cotton yarn


I guess
I just have more time
to notice
all these little things
around me
I have them back home too
but there I am mostly
busy
doing other things

My youngest daughter Mies
found this
tiny empty shell

just look at it
a little bit closer
and
discover
how nature
makes the most
awesome colorcombinations...

and
by coincidence
I found these gorgeous handmade Raku buttons
from a ceramics artist
at Sarlat
can't wait
to finish
this necklace
back home!

My creative workspace

oh yes,
I took some yarn
on holiday

while kids
are having fun
at the swimming pool
I enjoy the sun and garden
in the mids
of the
Perigord Noir woods

I love

the textures
the forms

just can't do a walk
without
gathering
all sort
of inspiring
beautiful
nature finds

and what's so funny
also
my kids
are thrifters too
LOL!
(what is nature, what is nurture? ;-)

two more days...

...and we'll be back in Belgium.

Winter
means for me
textile jewelry,
mis mash of felt, silk, stones, wood....

as I can't let loose
of my creative vibes
I'll take
my sketchbook with me
on Holiday!
