my creative workspace

My creative space is all about organising today!

Sometimes you need a little help to get your workplace organised, and I think I got some help by bying a sweet needlebook from my lovely EST friend Ravenhill.
(check out her lovely shop and blog). (in the last pic you see how messy I organised my needles are)
The needlebook came to me beautiful packaged (look at the little fabric heart tag and the cute bakers twine she used, just lovely!) look how it matches perfectly with the crochet needle case I bought on Etsy a while ago!

And what I am also busy with today:

A few days ago I found a white (imitation) leather bag in the vintage shop , I did not like the design of the bag (in fact it's a real ugly one!!) but I liked the color (white-ivory) and texture.
I found the bag so ugly that I could not wait to put my scissors in it!
I hope it turns out great because I love recycling and repurposing!............ to be continued!
Hop over to Kootoyoo's blog to see some other workspaces!
and remember you can still enter my give-away :-))

simple but strong....

As you know I was the secret bunny for Birribe, a great textile artist i've been admiring for a long time, I love her style and very own colorpalette! (take a look at her Etsy shop and at her website and discover how talented she is!

Creating something for her was not easy, I wanted to make something new, but still my style!
I tried to use the colorpalette she likes and went for a simple but strong design.

I made A double felted dreadlock and pimped it with a crocheted tube bead and a carved turquoise stone bead. it closes with a beautiful coco button covered with enamel.

I liked the new design a lot and I think a new line is born :-)

I just made another one, this time pimped with the crocheted tube bead and a handmade linen flower. Soon in my shop :-)

It's sometimes difficult to chose the lenght of a necklace, I like chokers, but not everyone wears that kind of necklace. So if you ever want to purchase a necklace in my shop, just ask me,
if possible I can always adjust the lenght as you wish!

E T S Y V E R S A R Y GIVE -AWAY

It's been a year now, since I started to sell (and buy) on Etsy.

Through my Etsy shop I had the chance to discover new creative ways, and the fact that people buy my creations (and give me wonderful feedback) stimulates even more to go on with it.

Through my Etsy shop and blog some 'real life' shops discovered my creations and now I am selling my jewelry In Ghent (Nathalie Engels), in Portland, Oregon (Dazzle) (and soon in New York!!!!!).

Through Etsy I got to learn sweet friends from all over Europe and all over the world!I enjoy chatting with them, sharing our happy and sad feelings (but most of all our creative passion!!)

I am so thankfull to all the people who supported me by purchasing at my shop.

It is so fun to see that the people who wear my jewelry are so different: of all ages and all kind of types!!

To celebrate all this I decided to give-away a gift certificate of 35 Dollar(to spend in my shop)

All you have to do is leave a comment in my blog and don't forget to mention your e-mail adress.
All those woman who were so nice to send me a picture of them wearing my creations, get two entries extra for this give-away + a certificate of 15% off their next purchase. (you can still send me a picture to get one more entry for this give -away, and I'll add it to this list!)

A blooming colorpalette

Today it's my etsyversary!!
It's one year now since I opened my shop ,
I am preparing a give-away that I will post tommorrow on my blog, So keep in touch!

In the meantime I show you some new creations : the weather has been so beautiful lately, here in Belgium, and this reflects in the colorpalette of my creations. Fresh , happy and blooming colors: perfect accessories for spring and summer!

I have quite some magazines (about interior design and Fashion) that I just can't throw away when I have read them. There is sometimes amazingly beautiful photography, and I keep being inspired by it.
Now I found a great way to expand my own colorpalette: I let me inspire by some ads or pictures from magazines. I am very proud of the designs that turned out of it. I am sure I will never ever again throw away my magazines. This is a great way of reusing them!
You can find these new necklaces in my shop.
Or see more pictures in my Flickr Photostream.

my (kids) creative workspace

It's not always my creative stuff and supplies that is all around the place!
My two youngest kids are also busy creating and experimenting!
(what do you want with a mummy always crafting :-)

Cutting paper, for instance, just cutting paper, maybe they will make a mosaic out of it, but now it's just the fun of cutting, ah well, the exercice makes the master!

My son is a lot into drawing lately: look how cute his knights are, with a helmet and very big dangerous teeth!!!! And there is one with three arms (or is it a sword?)

And with easter coming nearer he is also exercising little chickens, oh how I like these spontanious children-drawings!
(daddy first drew a chicken example and then Briek made his own version of it).

A sweet crochet lady gave me a beautiful packed surprise box!

It seems like hubby wants me me to pick up my crochet needles again :-) (He gave me some gorgeous yarn and a crochet book)
