Shop update! and FREE SHIPPING till the end of the week!

Some new Japanese Garden earrings and rings are in my shop.I love the design a lot,
maybe because it combines two of my most loved materials: paper and silver.
I use a silver plated bezel and a detail out of Washi paper, and finish it with a protecting glaze. The handmade earhooks are sterling silver.
I wrote a previous blogpost about Washi Paper and my designs here and learn more about washi paper here.
You can guess how happy I am that they are so loved in my shop :-)
Find The Japanese Garden collection now in my shop!

I designed a little card to go with this jewelry line, and as the butterflies were still fluttering around here in my workspace, another card was created soon!

(how to) Pimp your package!

I ship lots of packages all over the world these days! :-)
The packaging part is not the most pleasant: putting the right stuff into the right envelop, checking,... double checking adresses... making sure the enveloppes are safe sealed...
But I do enjoy packing the jewelry itself, choosing packing paper, matching ribbons, adjusting a cute tag, that is really the fun part of the packaging!

And to avoid that this part becomes boring, I often change my packaging.
(find some older posts about my packaging here and here and here.
Lately I used these butterflies to pimp my jewelry boxes and packages.
I found the digital images at Paperstreet on Etsy, I started with printing them on different kind of papers and cut them out (as you know: I love cutting with little scissors!)
Find below some ideas for pimping your gift package, be creative and try to work with other illustrations like flowers, insects, birds, fairies...
Chose something that fits your style and your jewelry!
Paperstreet has lots of fun digital images instock!
(just click on the images to enlarge them)

- Print the images on different kinds of paper

- cut out the images

- how to make rough edges on fiber paper

- Make the edges wet by dipping them in some water

- rip off the edges carefully and let them dry

- the result: irregular fibery edges

- cut out some tags and glue the butterflies on them, use them as gifttags

Flickr Favorites: the darkest days...

1. Whirl-it Lampshade, 2. yellow lampshade, 3. postit lamp, 4. Monkey print lampshade by Lush Designs

Created with fd's Flickr Toys
It's this time of the year: the darkest days!
Why not enjoy them and relax on the couch with a hot cuppa chocolate, a good book and the charming cosy light of lampshades :-)

Making this Mosaic, I realised I did not yet blog about the lampshades of my friend Laurence who exposed her collection of lampshades some time ago at our 'openhouse' in Bruges. I Made some pictures, but gosh, it was difficult to capture her beautiful handmade lampshades in a picture. Her work is very 'graphical', no wonder, because she is a graphic designer!
Enjoy the pictures!

This weekend my brother Peter married his girlfriend Apple 丽华.
A romantic day in Yongji (China) with snow in the morning!
It was traditional Chinese wedding complete with a banquet, Chinese fireworks and the red enveloppes. It was practical impossible to be there, for us, but they will do it all over (in Belgian tradition then) when they come over at christmas :-)

They look so very happy in the picture I got, Apple is amazingly beautiful in her White Wedding dress!
I want to wish them all the luck in the world and inspired by this lovely Wedding I made a bridal moodboard today!

If you want to create a moodboard of your favorite European Street Team Designs, make your mosaic and add a link to your blogpost (NOT your blog please) or Flickr in Mister Linky (click on the button below and fill in your name with the link to your blogpost or Flickr picture).
