in het bevroren gras

het ijzelt
en de struiken zijn van glas

ik ril
en als een warme deken
sla je je armen om me heen

er zijn van die momenten
dat ik wilde
dat alles bleef
zoals het was...

note cards

In een vorig leven was ik grafisch ontwerper,

het kriebelt nog steeds, ...

Eens komt de tijd dat ik 'meer tijd' heb voor mijn teepotkaartjes, voor nieuw grafisch werk,

in afwachting kan ik niet nalaten iets te doen met de blogfotos' van mijn creaties,

het eerste kaartje draag ik op aan Valerie ;-)

het tweede is er eentje opgedragen aan mijn kinderen :-))

In a former life I was a graphic designer... still, it's itching,

I am waiting for more time to use my graphic skills again, (in fact I need tons of time do get rid of all the ideas caught in my head) in the meantime I could not resist to do something with the pictures of my blog.

I dedicated the first notecard to a very strong and sweet woman: Valerie,

the second notecard is dedicated to my kids!

deadline: Saturday: the bazar Fair of the Steiner school!

these pictures are just a few of my creations with felted balls, wooden beads, grain beads and Ethiopean silver.

Tommorow I'll let you take a peek in my 'flower and Stone' collection (when the sun breaks trough today and allows me to take pics!)

milestone "kijk, mama, aan mijn voeten!"

Rennen, lopen, rushen,

deze woorden staan niet in Miesjes woordenboek (en maar goed ook).

Bij Mies (met Down) moet alles stap voor stap en heel dikwijls ook nog met meerdere tussenstapjes! Maar voor Mies is geen berg te hoog, geen brug te ver, een klein duwtje en ze raakt er wel!

Laatst moest ze kousen aan (er wordt hier binnenshuis heel veel op blote voeten gelopen, papa incluis) voor één of ander uitstapje. 'Ik doe dat zelf wel mama', zei ze, en 'o wonder' Mies trok haar kousen aan (en ik heb daar niet eens op geoefend met haar!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Dat zijn zo van die kleine dingetjes die je zo ontzettend gelukkig maken!

Running, speeding, rushing...

not for my daughter Mies (the one with Downsyndrome), she is very slow in everything, needs to take her time, has to learn step by step, and sometimes also some steps in between! But she is very courageous , she would climb everyone mountain, would cross every bridge , just needs that little push...

Lately I wanted to put on her socks ( as we are mostly barefoot inside our house) to go somewhere. But she said: "mummy, I can do it myself" and 'Good heaven' she putted on her socks, all by herself! unbelievable, we never never practised this.!!!

This as one of those things that really makes my day and gives me a warm feeling inside!

Bazar in Gent!

Op 22 en 23 november kan je mijn shopje vinden op de Bazar in de Steinerschool te Gent!

Ik heb er een stand met mijn juweeltjes: oorhangers, halssnoeren, broches ,...

Voor die gelegenheind maakte ik heel wat meer dan er in mijn Etsy shop te koop is!

Be my Button!

Some days ago, I met a nice lady having the same addiction as me: collecting buttons!!!

I can cherish those little treasures like a child, I like the colors, textures, patterns and forms.

She had a stunning collection: horn, wooden , lucite, plastic, fabric, bakelite....all vintage!!!

She sells them (together with gorgeous fabrics) at the Flee market in Ghent and Brussels.

I found some beauties that I will use as closures for my Silk Diva necklaces, but I had also the idea to make big, bold rings with them!!

If you can't resist vintage buttons too, then go to the blog of another lovely lady, who is also a button addict (and makes stunning jewelry with it), in her blog she tells a lot about the origin of some beautiful buttons.)
