paper garden

Gardens have something with art. Either they serve as exposition space, or they inspire to create. Yet, gardens are also just fun to dwell in with a cool drink between all the beauty ! We were visiting such a garden this weekend: the garden of Isabel Van Meirhaeghe, paper and bookbinder artist. Isabel gave a demonstration in paper making, sold several of her paper creations, and offered a fair trade drink on one of the cosy terrasses.
Isabel uses quite a variety in materials to make paper or to bind books: slices of courgette, porridge, breadbags, garden- and kitchen waste, fabric of an old coat, old photobooks. Hence, she really deserves to be mentioned in my "recycled stuff" column. You can still visit "De Vuurkorf" on Sunday June 29, to discover her creations ànd garden !
The pictures: in the garden of Isabel (yes, that's me with the "flowery" skirt), she shows how to make paper; some creations of Isabel and a handbound booklet with original cover (made of paper clippings) with on top a pair of my handmade earrings.

My Dutch is not good enough to understand it, but looks like a lot of fun with paper making :) I love the last earrings! And those quilts from your last post are gorgeous!
