African Diva

It was a while ago I made something for the European Week Challenge,
just lack of time...
I am still drowning in the work, but I could'nt let pass the challenge with the theme 'Africa',
hosted by Creationsbyeve.
Now I had a reason to use the Amber Resine and silver beads my hubby brought from Ethiopea!
I made another Silk Diva 'African Style'. A plum-purple, olive and amber colorcombination,
it is in my shop right now :-)

polymer findings

It's amazing what you can do with polymer clay!
I have a little pile of my favorite colors and from time to time I am in the mood for working with it. You can make the most yummie things with it, like cherry cupcakes and donuts or little polymer animals, but honest, flowers and leaves are the things I am most stuck too and that explains the choice of my polymer clay findings.

Snow in France, Italy, Norway, ....still not in Belgium.
But it is cold, not freezing but really cold.
I definitely need a scarf and where else do I find such a beauties as on Etsy!

My cup of tea...

It's time to go ahead with my teapot cards collection,
I draw the teapots myself and cut them out of a mix of all sorts of papers I gathered trough the years (vintage wallpaper, japanse washi, handpainted papers...) I use also some gorgeous stamps on Etsy in this shop. of Norahjane.
This is a little sneak preview,
and then back to my worktable,
I will list them soon in my shop.

Silk Diva

My Silk Diva necklace is quite popular in my shop,
one of them was even featured in a saturday shopping list of this blog (guess what: it sold on monday :-))

It's a pleasure making them, felting balls, making silk beads and then finding the ultimate color combination or even combining with stone, precious stone or seed pods.

Can't help it, it's just me liking to work with different materials, mixing and matching,
I can't stuck to one material, one technique, one discipline...
Quite tiring...
Wearing the necklace is a pleasure too, I guess (in fact I know, because I have one for myself)
the felt choker makes it so very lightweight, you just aren't aware of wearing a necklace.
(watch out when you're gonna take a shower!) :-))
Some of the pieces above are available in my shop.

paper (felt) flower tutorial

A while ago I found this tutorial somewhere, chaotic as I am , I don't find back where I found it (so if someone knows, give me a comment!)
It's a great idea to make these flowers as embellishments for Christmas packaging.
I am thinking of trying with different sorts of papers: vintage wallpapers, handmade papers, maybe also fused plastic and cardboard. I tried with felt (I made two spirals that I stiched together) and finished it with some embroidery,
doesn't it ook like a brooch now?
