My creative space today....

Well, this is how my workspace looks today.
(it's only a glimpse of my workdesk, I don't want to show you the mess -)
I am busy making orders for necklaces for Nathalies shop.
She has an 'Open Door' this weekend and asked me to create some new necklaces.
They are all packed up and I brought them to her shop in Ghent.

and now time for something else...

Right now I feel like creating with all natural materials like seed pods, wooden beads, stones, beautiful striped shells... (double click on the pics to have a larger pic)

collection cabinet

Tijd voor een lente schoonmaak,

wel moeilijk, nu de poetsvrouw ziek is. Tja, ik bedoel dus niet het huis, maar mijn werkruimte ::-) Het wordt echt wel eens tijd om mijn atelier aan te pakken. Ik ben zelfs er nog niet in geslaagd om de schuifjes van mijn nieuwe kast te vullen.

Mijn shopje draait nogal , en nu het lente wordt voel ik de nood aan lentefrisse nieuwe ontwerpen. Heb dus veel leuke nieuwe kralen, stenen, viltwol, stofjes en nog allerlei moois in huis gehaald , die liggen daar te lonken op mijn werktafel , dus van poetsen of sorteren en ordenen komt voorlopig niets in huis :-(

Voor de fun heb ik wel eens wat spulletjes samengebracht in een 'moodboard'. Moet ik meer doen. Ik ben van jongsaf een verzamelaar van leuke, nutteloze hebbedingetjes. Die krijgen nu een tweede leven in een 'collectie'. Misschien laat ik er wel kaarten van drukken.

Heb me wel geamuseerd hiermee, maar intussen blijft mijn werkruimte een 'mess'.

Ik troost me met de gedachte dat ik die chaos nodig heb om te kunnen creeëren -)

Spring is in the air, time for the big spring-cleaning.

Bad timing, as the cleaning lady is ill!

Well I don't mean to clean the house, but I am thinking of ordening my workplace.

I even haven't had the time to fill my new cupboard.

With spring upcoming, I feel the need to create fresh, new things. For that I have been supply shopping: new beads, stones, fabrics,wool roving, they all lay there waiting for me...

so I just don't feel like cleaning and ordening, I want to start with new ideas and creations.

Looking trough all my stuff , I just had fun making little collections (in the same color, 'ton sur ton', remember :-) and taking pics of hem. I like them, maybe they will look good as cards too...

In the meantime, my workroom (and house) is still a mess. Well , let us say that I need the chaos to be able to create. hm hm :-))))

I usually send a little card with my packages. I hope people keep them or give them to relatives.

I haven't any more in stock, so it was time to play with photoshop and make some new.

they measure 8 x 8 cm, small but handy and a good format to make a mosaic.

So, soon my little cards will be spread all over the world! :-)

lavender dream

My last challenge entry. Did not have the time to blog about it.

It is already sold, but I still want to show it!

The challenge theme by Janebofelt was Combination of Dissonant'. You can see the other entries on her blog.

I tried the combination metal (copper) and fabric (silk), and it is also 'ton sur ton' (using one color in differente shades).

Palepink was the winner of this Challenge and chose the theme SPRING! YAY!

a walk

Prachtig weertje gisteren, even gaan wandelen in de Kalkense Meerssen. We nemen de buggy bewust niet mee, omdat Mies anders van begin tot eind de wandeling al zittend doet :-) Sowieso gaat het wat moelijker voor haar door haar lage spiertonus, maar blijven oefenen is de boodschap! En af en toe eens op papa's schouders kan ook nog :-)

Such a nice weather yesterday, we just had to do a walk. Not always that easy, because Mies (with down) has a low muscle tonus and that makes she can not walk as long as a normal child of her age. But practice makes perfect, so we never take buggys on our walks. And still there are daddys shoulders to sit on, if walking is too difficult.

Last week, hubby and I spend two days on the Belgian coast (in Ostend). Hubby had booked a B&B there, but found out an hour before we were leaving that he booked the wrong days, so we had to search (in a hurry) for another place to stay, :-(
We found the Burlington Hotel, not that cosy as the B&B, ........well, everything was better then staying at home....

We did not planned anything and just did some loooong walks along the sea. Only the facts that we weren't home and without kids were so relaxing for us. We found an incredible yummie restaurant near the beach where they served fusion kitchen (one of our favs), and walking back under a starry night made this evening complete -)) I chose a sashimi, Japanese kitchen is one of my favs :-p


We visited the Mu ZEE (the PMMK museum) , it had been so long we were there!
and I discovered some not so very known work of Leon Spillaert, an artist who's work was there before, but that never catched my eye, maybe getting older makes you see and like other things in different ways.... ::-)
They also have some work of Panamarenko, his constructions always makes me smile in a way!
The advantage of a little museum is that they have some works that are not so wellknown, but sometimes more beautiful just because of their modesty :-)
There was a little bit time left for supply shopping, but that is a blogpost for later!
