wrap it up - inpakken en wegwezen

Heel fijn plastic tafelkleedje(zeeman)
a plastic tablecloth, extra fine, feels soft like silk

een verzameling plastieken bloemetjes en ornamentjes uit de oude doos
vintage plastic flowers

een verloren mohair-achtig (synthetisch) bolletje wol
a lonely bal of thread (sunthetic, but very soft to the touch)

enfin, c'est chic , le plastique!

Fortune cookies

men zegt dat Fortune cookies:

my creative workspace tutorial jewelry display

today
my workspace
is all about
preparing my booth
for the next fair I attend

A while ago
I found this
great tutorial

on the blog
of an EST friend.

A brilliant idea to display
the button rings I made
lately!

I used:
- some cheap isolation tubes
(the smallest ones)
- a shelf from the ikea molger series
I once bought to hang in the bathroom, but now it's destiny changed (lol!)
- an old white blanket

I know...
I should have ironed
the blanket parts
but well
I am not a good housewife I guess , LOL!

(how to) Pimp your package!

I ship lots of packages all over the world these days! :-)
The packaging part is not the most pleasant: putting the right stuff into the right envelop, checking,... double checking adresses... making sure the enveloppes are safe sealed...
But I do enjoy packing the jewelry itself, choosing packing paper, matching ribbons, adjusting a cute tag, that is really the fun part of the packaging!

And to avoid that this part becomes boring, I often change my packaging.
(find some older posts about my packaging here and here and here.
Lately I used these butterflies to pimp my jewelry boxes and packages.
I found the digital images at Paperstreet on Etsy, I started with printing them on different kind of papers and cut them out (as you know: I love cutting with little scissors!)
Find below some ideas for pimping your gift package, be creative and try to work with other illustrations like flowers, insects, birds, fairies...
Chose something that fits your style and your jewelry!
Paperstreet has lots of fun digital images instock!
(just click on the images to enlarge them)

- Print the images on different kinds of paper

- cut out the images

- how to make rough edges on fiber paper

- Make the edges wet by dipping them in some water

- rip off the edges carefully and let them dry

- the result: irregular fibery edges

- cut out some tags and glue the butterflies on them, use them as gifttags

How to store your jewelry part 2

It's not always easy to storage your jewelry in a cool way when you are at fairs.
The last fair I attended I had to deal with a table that was to small, maybe next time I bring an extra little table with me?
These are pictures of how I present my jewlery, but believe me, I can improve!
For my earrings I use a kind of big bamboo hats that one put over a bowl of fruit, I have them in White and black.
My rings are presented in a cute vintage childrens shop.

I browsed for some new ideas about the storage and presentation of my jewelry
and as a lot of us are attending some upcoming Christmas fairs, i found it interesting to share these ideas with you!
In this post I show some great finds: if you are not that handy yourself, then you can now invest in some cool displays!
