a book for mama... and the kids

Some weeks ago I had a booth at the Fair of the Teunisbloem in Gent,
I shared a place with Ibooks, a well known book shop in Gent.
Gosh, nothing could be more dangerous for me: I am a children books addict!
and yes: I found this one below, with the most cute illutrations! drooling!
Illustrations by Dutch Illustrator: Noelle Smit
'vandaag is alles zoek
twee knopen van mijn jas
mijn rode boekentas
en mijn wollen zebradas
ja, vandaag is alles zoek,
zelfs mijn zusje in dit boek'

Zeer herkenbare schattige rijmpjes in 'klop klop klaar, ben je daar...'

stuck in the snow

So the Holidays started on Friday.......
and how! with a huge pack of snow!
I planned to go buy my own torch, some silver wire and silver plate and other metalsmith stuff, on friday....but nope.... it was far to dangerous to hit the road to the supply shop located 40 km from my home... :-(
mmmm, disappointed, I really wanted to practice some soldering at home,...
So I needed to change plans....

I packed some more earrings for Nathalies shop. You should really go there one of these days, se gives a big promotion (till 31 of december) and gosh! she has some very nice stuff in stock. I could not resist and bought me a super lovely dress!

I expect the Christmas shopping rush will be over for now, so lots of free time are in front of me... I need to plan my time, lots of creative ideas are bubbling in my mind too :-)

No worries, it's a mess!
The reason is the greyness outside..., finally it's snowing :-) and it keeps snowing, yay! The kids couldn't wait togo out and have snowfun this morning :-)

So maybe I can show now what I made for Secret Santa.
Two weeks ago I finished my Secret Santa present, and yesterday I got a message from Netka from Woodbenice that she received it , as she has no blog, I show you here the presents Santa (me) made for her :-)

Christmas trees

I am happy the tree of last year survived! I only hope he can stand another two weeks in a warm house!

I looove the drawings of my son, so sweet, innocent and fun!
I secretly hope he will have the drawing skills I had, and maybe later takes art classes, hm, who knows,.... one can only dream...

I am busy these days wrapping up orders and shipping them, almost no time to set up my shop, so the FREE SHIPPING continues.

Sinterklaas is off again to Spanje! Read the whole story about this European tradition here.
I always find it amazing how people are shopping for Sinterklaas presents, kids must be overloaded with all kinds of toys considered to all the parents you see leaving the toy shops with tons of toys and stuff! I am sure kids are already happy with some chocolates, speculaas, marzipan and one single toy!
hm... with Copenhagen in my mind... Isn't that also a way to save the planet: to be more sober and severe in our spendings...
Go for handmade and repurposed stuff!

So time to think about the Christmas Pimping! I found some lovely ideas on flickr!
I do hope I have time to make my own this year!
The kids prefere the real one: I think it has a bit an old fashioned look!
We have a tree in the garden who survived already for 3 years, so we'll dig it up again for this year, the kids will adorn it with the glittering balls that are now stocked up on the attic.

But I will make my own Christmas decoration too, one with recycled stuff...
to be continued...

Head over to Artminds blog to find more Mosaics!

Just want to show some pictures of my two youngest with Sinterklaas who brought a visit to school!
